LIGER ZERO

PART 3

Bit, Leena and Brad had their zoids in an arrowhead formation, with Bit in front and Brad and Leena on the sides.

The Dark Whale King disappeared up above sight.

“Alright, Bit use your buster blades and go in first.” Jamie told him. “You guys give him cover fire!”

“Right!” the team responded.

“All out wild weasel assault!” Leena yelled as whole lot of ammo flew from her zoid.

The Gojulas activated its shields. The assault failed to puncture them.

Brad let out a long low whistle. “This is an advanced model.”

“We’re going to have our work cut out for us this time!” Leena groaned. She threw another assault at the Gojulas.

“You won’t break through these shields!” said the pilot.

“That’s Layon!” exclaimed Dr Torres.

“Wha-Why would that old giser want to pilot a zoid for?” wondered Leena aloud.

“Jamie, get out there!” Dr Torres answered.

Jamie hurried away.

Meanwhile Bit, Brad and Leena were having a hard time. The Gojulas’ Buster cannons were making it difficult to find somewhere to fire from.

Bit charged forward and dug his blades into the Gojulas’ side.

“The X1 model is equipped with blades. Watch out!” Layon chuckled.

The blades shot out and severed the buster blades. “Looks like it’s time for Panzer!”

The Liger went back to the Hover Cargo to change into Panzer. The green Panzer armour snapped on. The Panzer bounded back out.

By that time Leena had been hit by a buster cannon shot. She was a sitting duck. “All out wild weasel assault!” she yelled peppering the Gojulas’ shields with ammo. Another hit by the buster cannons put her out.

Brad fired and fired. He ran circles around the Gojulas X1 until it whacked him with its tail and sent him spiralling into the blades that chopped the weapons unit clean off. Brad was useless.

“No one’s a match for the Wild Eagle!” Jamie yelled as he swooped the Gojulas X1 in his Raynos. He fired the multi-fire gun. It hit the Gojulas’ shield power source. The shields were cut so Bit could launch an all out assault.

The shots were finally starting to take some effect on the X1’s armour.

But that wasn’t enough to dampen Layon. He fired energy cannons that impacted on the Raynos. It went spinning out of control while Jamie tried to control his descent.

Bit groaned. Even if Jamie managed to stabilise the Raynos, it wouldn’t be any help. The weapons were damaged. The Raynos would be a moving target.

“Sorry, Bit! I’m out!” said Jamie as he flew back to the Hover Cargo.

Bit was all alone against this monster…
