Chapter Three: Bandits


The two boys jumped into their zoids the following day, and launched of f towards " some tower thingy ", a  quote Kara.

Halfway there, Blake realised, he has no range weapons, just pure speed and hand-to-hand combat. Which made his lightning saix, three times faster.

" Hey, Thunder can go over four hundred mph now! Cool! " yelled Blake.

They got their in the middle of the afternoon, at a huge fortress. Insta ntly, Jim fired at the fort with his Shadow Fox.

The fort was hit, enemy units came launching out. War Sharks, Pterases, and Helcats.
They instantly charged.

" Oh my gosh! " they said in unison.

Blake turned Thunder on full speed and was a blur, instantly one side of the fort, then the other.

"Cover me Jimmy! Darn, no weapons!"

The lightning saix ran around , being chased by pteras, dodging the atta cks.

" I will stall, you blast 'em! " exclaimed Blake.

Jim Stone started to blast the pteras out of the sky, but was hit by the Hel Cats, hard.

" Darnit! " yelled Jim.

The helcats were blasted off of him , from a butte, seven yellow Sabre C ats with long range cannons installed, were blasting away.

" Thank goodness you guys are here! " said Jim.

Thunder was still running around like a chicken with it's head cut-off, dodging the attacks in blur.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! One, two, eight, all the pteras were out of the sky.

Blake stopped Thunder, and started tackling the helcats, but he was hit by a War Shark, and his zoid froze.

" ACK! Darn it! Stupid zoid! "

Blake layed there, without a zoid, while the Shadow Fox and the Sabre Ca ts did their thing. Within thirty minutes, all they had to worry about was t he eighteen warsharks.

" Where did they get these things? " asked Jim.

" PLAN X-NOVA! They stole them from us! " relpied Kara.

All the sabre cats started to fire at the fort, blowing it up completely into rubble. The War Sharks retreated.



Back at the office two days later...

" Man, thanks. I am guessing our pay is cut? " asked Jim.

" Well, we will give you each five hundred. But that is it. You needed b ack-up. I thought you said you were good. " said one of the officers.

" Well, my lightning saix HAD NO WEAPONS INSTALLED! " shouted Blake.

" Say, can I go which you? " asked Kara.

" What? " asked Jim.

" Well, here I am not doing much, just patrolling, so can I go which you ? "

" I guess. " answered Blake.

" Okay, just need to pick up my friend on the way. She lives a few miles down. "

" What?! " sighed the boys.

The three trotted off in the zoids.
