Episode 2: The Death of a Leader
Prelude: On the planet Zi, 60
million light years from earth, a war is going on between the two most powerful
nations on the planet: The
Champ, Captain Adam, and I charged the squadron of Red Horns. I put the thrusters on maximum to try to get the Red Horn pilots off guard, (back then, the Command Wolf AC was the fastest zoid on Zi).
“Sir, should we start firing a carpet barrage to cover John?” one of the soldiers of my Command Wolf squadron.
“Yes!
Fire carpet barrage at the Red Horns! I’ll cover John!” yelled Captain Adam.
The
captain and me charged one of the Red Horn with
cannons blazing but none of the shells seemed to be effected?
“Huh? Why aren’t any of my blasts causing damage to that Red Horn? Does it have reinforced armor or something.” I asked the captain.
“It must be the newer more powerful Red Horn. They have even thicker armor and more weapons. Be careful, it’s one weak spot is the torso.” said Captain Adam.
“Why it’s torso, sir? Huh, it is starting to fire at us!” “Sir!” I yelled.
The captain was hit in the torso of his zoid. The zoid was mortally but he could still eject for a moment, because the zoid would explode within a few seconds.
“Huff, huff, huff…sorry Command Wolf, I can’t save you and me, so I have to eject to leave you old friend. What? The ejection system was destroy when we got shot!” yelled Captain Adam.
It was true, when the captain’s Command Wolf was hit in the neck and torso! Then an ultimate command popped in the captain’s Command Wolf.
“Are you sure Command Wolf? Okay, if you can stand, will use our final attack on that Red Horn. Great, lets do it!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!” yelled Captain Adam.
“Captain no! Eject captain!” I yelled to the captain.
“Sorry kid, I have to do this. You will be in command of the squadron now!!!!!!!!!…” yelled the captain.
The captain in the dying Command Wolf charged the Red Horn Mk II and bit the torso of the zoid.
“Ragnarok Fang!!!!!” yelled the captain.
“Sir!!!!” I yelled.
Both the Red Horn and the captain’s Command Wolf exploded! I had to take command of the squadron. I then launched a all out assault on the Red Horn’s squadron.
We won the battle, but my comrades and me mourned the death of our Captain.
“Early this morning, Captain Adam James West laid down his life for our Nation. Too his wife and children, we give you his Medal of Honor. I am very sorry for your loss mam.” President Alan said on his address to the Nation.
“For your command of your late Captain’s Squadron of Command Wolves, I promote you Ensign John Flyheight, to the rank of Lieutenant Major. You and your organoid Champ will be command of the Captain’s Wolves Squadron. Congratulations Lieutenant.” General Michaels said to me as I got my first medal.
