The Warring Years

Episode 3: Proving Myself

Prelude: On the planet Zi, 60 million light years from earth, a war is going on between the two most powerful nations on the planet: The Helic Republic and Zanevas Empire. This story takes place 100 years before Chaotic Century.

            A week later, the zoids in my squadron were being repaired. I overheard the guys talking about me.

            “That kid is the reason why our captain died.” said James.

            “Yeah, lets get him.” said Jim

            Those two tried to tackle me but Champ stopped them by whipping his tail at them. They fell and I ordered them to stop.

            “No way were taking orders from you! YOU ARE NOT EVEN OUR CAPTAIN!” yelled James.

            He tried to punch me but I avoided it by mere inches and he tried again but Jim stopped him.

            “Now, now James, I have a proposition for him.” Jim said.

            “What?” Jim and I asked.

            “He has to beat use in a zoid battle of course. If he does, he will have proved himself to be a warrior and we will respect him as our captain.” said Jim.

            “You always have the best plans Jim. Okay tomorrow at noon, we’ll have out fight.” said James.

            “Okay, I accept your challenge.” I said.

            “You are going down John!” yelled James.

            “You also can’t use your organoid in this fight.” said Jim.

            The next day at noon, we went to the chosen battlefield. It was where we were the captain died. Champ stayed at the base.

            “Ha, ha, I am surprised you came boy.  Will fight until James and have a command system freeze of your zoid has a system freeze. I we win you have to drop out of the army. Lets get started!” yelled Jim.

            Jim was in a Guysack and James was in a standard Command Wolf. I took the first move, firing a carpet barrage at both of them. The Guysack burrowed under ground to avoid the barrage and the Command Wolf took the full force of the attack. James went down fast.

            “Dawm-it, I can’t fight anymore. You’ll have to take care of him Jim.” said James.

            “Okay, it won’t be a problem James.” said Jim.

            He attacked me from underground. The claws grabbed on to my back leg and he tried to pull me under. I put on my boosters and dragged him out. He then fired at me. My Command Wolf’s front right leg was hit bad, but I could still fight.

            “Dawm, I can’t maneuver very well anymore. Man I wish I could use Champ.” I thought.

            “Are you ready to retire John? Scorpion Sting attack!” yelled Jim.

            I dodged the attack by mere millimeters and bit his Guysack’s tail! Even though the teeth of my Command Wolf weren’t very strong, there were a lot of the combined with the strength of the jaws, I crushed the tail!

            “Dawm-it! I can’t lose! TAKE THIS KID!” Jim yelled as he tried to do a punch like maneuver with his Guysack’s claws.

            I dodge that attack and grabbed onto one of the Guysack’s claws and engaged the Electro-Fang attack.

            “No! My command system is frozen! I can’t believe I lost!” yelled Jim.

            When we were back at the base they said I have proven myself to be a warrior and James and Jim also said they would be proud to let me be the captain of the squadron.

            “Guys, guys you know I am only a lieutenant. I have to finish the repairs on my Command Wolf now. Champ here boy.” I said.
